On a movie night out with Sam Park, I had asked his opinion about the value of having a horror celebrity as part of the cast. So the day came when I had to make the phone call. My cousin had warned me that her father-in-law was the quiet, stoic type and that he would probably say very little when talking to me but not to be put off by that. Saturday morning was here and the first appointment was 10:00am. I arrived at the studio and set up some soft flood lights, two chairs for the actors to sit in, a table for me to sit behind and the HD camera on a tripod. The manager of the studio had graciously offered to run the camera for me and tape the auditions.
